RE: Formatting Vista Hard Drive?

And of course, all this 'simplicity' is appropriate for somebody who doesn't yet understand why they can't format the HD holding the OS they just booted to.
Well said!

RE: What is it about holiday week/weekends?

We're fulltime workampers so we don't have the option to skeedaddle for the crazy weekends. However, some of these folks have inspired me to add a new page to our website. If you have a particular rule you'd like to see added, pls PM me.

RE: Bike ladder rack...yes or no?

Agree with other posters. No problem with ladder rack and 2 bikes (NOT ultra lights). Just make sure everything is secured tightly and watch for parts that might rub against the back of your rig. We have to wrap a towel around one handlebar end.

RE: Both tank valves open???

OK. I left the valve closed until the black tank showed 3/4 full, then dumped it. The guage showed empty but the toilet is plugged. I have tried pulling out the tp (messy job), using my flusher which just filled up the toilet and tried pushing the mess through. Any more ideas. I'm waiting for my wife to come with a wire coat hanger (hard to find).
Any and all help will be appreciated.
Mr Skip
We had the same problem our first summer in the 5er. Finally took a big, burly RV tech with 3/8 or 1/2 pvc ramming down the toilet to clear the blockage. We also tried a snake from both ends. From inside, it could take a long time. From outside, it could be tough getting into the correct tank - depends on your piping.
Good luck.
P.S. Don't believe the gauges. Wait until the toilet burps.

RE: Release handle for black tank Montana 5th wheel

Do Montana owners have their own forums? You might ask there or contact the factory directly. The other option is indeed dropping at least a section of the underbelly to find out where the valve is. On my Bighorn, the valve is a few feet away from the handle. If you don't think the valve is operating properly, you really need to look at it while someone else is pulling the handle. It could just be a loose set screw. Or maybe the blade isn't closing completely so the water drains continuously. When you open the valve, you wouldn't see anything new coming out.

RE: Both tank valves open???

Fulltiming for one month, previously part-time RVers have heard not to leave the valves open. Now I notice all of the fulltimers here leave both valves open all the time. Opinions please. Thanks
Fulltiming for 2+ years. Grey valves open, black valve closed until toilet burps.
You should be able to make a ton of money in the near future at that park if you learn how to replace black tanks. Sounds like lots of poop pyramids forming there.

RE: Week, Month, Seasonal

Sharker6, I believe what you're looking for are campgrounds with mobile pump out service. A truck comes through the campground on a set schedule, hooks up to your sewer outlet and removes all the waste. There is usually an extra fee for this service. If you're looking specifically for campgrounds like this, try a Google search with the state name and "campgrounds with mobile pump out service"
Good luck.

RE: Pleasant surprise in Cooperstown NY

Where did you stay? My family & I are headed up that way for 4th of July.
Hope you get reservations soon. We've noticed that places up here fill up quickly on major holidays.

Pleasant surprise in Cooperstown NY

We just visited the baseball hall of fame and saved $16.50 on admission since I'm retired military. Active duty also get in free. Just remember to bring your ID card. Hall of Fame

RE: Expected Campground Compensation?

I would suggest subscribing to Workamper News now. There are a wide variety of jobs available with different compensation. This way you can get a better idea before making a move. Good luck.

RE: Working while camping, not workcamping

For those who say don't pay for job leads, I don't see where this is much different than workamper news, just specializing in a different area. I don't know if it's legitimate or not.

Web Hosting

I'm getting ready to change my personal website to a new host. Doesn't have to be real fancy but I'd prefer it if it supported Front Page 2003 extensions and has scripts for counters and guestbooks. Looking for decent low cost alternatives. Specifically, does anyone have any experience with HostMonster or WebHostingPad?

RE: Water Cooler on the road

We have to agree with the filter suggestion. We use a whole house filter purchased from one of the big box hardware stores. A 2 pack of filters is less than $10 at WalMart.

Does it look anything like the wall plate at the bottom of this page? Either way, the Winegard site would be a good place to get your questions answered.

RE: How do I override a mapped drive?

OK, one more suggestion. Check out this article.
It discusses mapping the thumb drive permanently to an NTFS folder on your current hard drive. Doesn't use a drive letter this way. Good Luck.
